This course, covering Danish copyright law, provides a detailed overview of the most important copyright rules you need to consider both as a user and possibly a creator of copyright-protected material. The course will cover the background of Danish copyright and you will learn what subject matter is and is not protected. There will be a thorough analysis of the exclusive rights of authors and other rights holders and of the exceptions in the law to these exclusive rights. The course will also cover the nature and scope of moral rights, as well as the duration of the protection.
You will learn how to deal with contracts and licensing in the field of copyright, and there will be an examination of the collective management organization that plays an important role when rights have to be cleared. In addition, the course will touch upon the implications of copyright outside of Denmark, and there will be discussion about handling infringement cases – what to do in practice in case of illegal activities.
